The arm was marked from being swung in and out of the cradle thousands upon thousands of times and generally being scratched and flicked that it had little nicks all over the shop but now. The headshell was getting so marked from endless cartridge changes over the years that I was getting embarrassed at posting photos of the cartridge from above but now. What they appear to do though is clean up the bed plate with the serial number on it and and give you a brand new tonearm as I can't believe that this has only been cleaned.
The service includes a complete rewire, disassemble, clean, reassemble with new bearings and calibrate the anti-skate. A 3 week turnaround from me sending it off to its return. I've just had my 15 year old IV arm serviced by the factory in England, something i've been putting off for a while.
Just a heads up for those with SME tonearms.
